DONOVAN SCOTT has starred in Popeye, Savannah Smiles, Sheena, Police Academy, and Zorro the Gay Blade. He has appeared in over 50 Movies and Television shows and is often seen in Hallmark movies and an abundance of TV commercials as Santa (some think he is the real deal). He is also a teacher of Comedy and for three years he was voted one of the top three Improv teachers in L.A.

BRIAN GIRARD is from Worcester, MA. Not Boston ... Worcester ... which is about 50 miles west of Boston, a very different place all together. He thinks Greg Hoyt is a hack, that Donovan Scott is a legend, and the rest of the cast of Scotty and Friends are marginal talents. He believes in everything just stated, minus the last segment, for he is truly inspired by this group of misfits. Credits include: Over a dozen national commercials, hundreds of hours of Internet based tomfoolery videos, the upcoming short film STRANGE written and directed by Hunter Adams, and a guest spot on the web series Couch Surfers, now available. Represented commercially by NTA.

CARL NAKAMURA is the longest-lived member, an old newbie, still enjoying, exploring, and discovering what life has to offer. At this point, it's still exciting and surprising and a gas! Maybe I meant gaseous, no matter, every morning, I'm thankful that it's not quitting time yet.

DIONE KURAOKA started off her early years in Burleson, Texas where she played volleyball, softball, and made the B-Team in basketball. She soon realized she had more fun entertaining her teammates than playing with balls. Casting her balls to the side, she chose to follow her dreams to become a funny lady. After attending The University of Cincinnati, she moved to LA in hopes of being a starving artist! She succeeded and now wants to be a successful artist. You can catch her performing with her other comedy troupe, Duchess Riot.

GREGORY HOYT is an Actor from Amesbury, Massachussetts. He has just finished shooting a Series Regular role on a brand new - top secret Improv Pilot for NBC.  He has appeared in such films as Clint Eastwood's "J. Edgar", opposite Leonardo Dicaprio and "What Other Couples Do".  Gregory has appeared in over 45 National and International Commercials. Gregory is represented by Judy Fox Personal Talent Management, Sovereign Talent Group (Theatrical) and AKA Talent Agency (Commercial).

JEN MCALLISTER hails from Portland, Oregon. She graduated from Wellesley College with degrees in Psychology and French, after which she promptly got a waitressing job (go figure)! She spent a year
traveling in Europe, and then relocated to San Francisco, studying acting at American Conservatory Theater and improv at Bay Area Theatre Sports. A move to Los Angeles in 2002 led Jen into film acting, and shortly after into Donovan Scott's improv & comedy classes. She is thrilled to be performing with Side Effects (except for Greg). She continually seeks out exciting, challenging, wacky, fun roles.

MATT KELLY is originally from the cold, unforgiving terrain of western Massachusetts. For the past four years, Matt has been in Los Angeles, soaking up the sun and remaining as pale as the day he was born. He couldn’t be more excited to be working with such a talented group of actors. It is truly a dream come true for Matt to be able to work with Donovan Scott and to see the hilarious moments that The Side Effects create each week.

P.S Brian is small, but he’s thin.

PETEY GIBSON Petey Gibson is "fearless onstage... subversive and versatile" ( and was recently named one of's 50 Hot Women in Comedy. (BECAUSE SHE'S HOT, GUYS.) Petey has trained in writing and improvisation at The Groundlings (LA) and UCB (NYC), and tours as a stand-up and character comedian. As character Mary Dolan, Petey has toured festivals in London, Toronto, Boston, and New York City, written 2 one-woman (and a huge band) shows, and is set to premiere her webseries Meals With Mary this summer. She also hosts the hit monthly comedy shitshow extravaganza The Mary Dolan Show (called "heroic defiance of good taste" by Boston's Weekly Dig) every third Sunday at El Cid in Silverlake!

SUZANNE COTSAKOS loves food. Grew up in Belgium. Used to work in production. Adores her Meisner coach (yup, she loves doing drama). Takes photos for fun. Has traveled a lot. Is obsessed with her dogs. And literally left her heart in San Francsico (okay, not literally, but it feels like it).

You can hear her as the voice of Figley in the animation, MUTASIA: The Mish Mash Bash, catch her in season 2 of The Kroll Show, and see her perform with her other comedy troupe, Duchess Riot.
